Jeffrey Campbell

Jeffrey Campbells - TK Maxx, £40

I was browsing the TK Maxx website on Monday and came across these beauties. I love Jeffrey Campbell even if the Lita is a little overdone but there are lot of other designs in the brand that are sexy and quirky. The only thing that has put me off before is the price tag (these were originally £154) and the only other pair of JCs I have were £15 in an Office sale a couple of years ago.
But after searching high and low for a perfect pair of black heels for summer, I think I've nailed it. The shoes are comfortable but as they're open toed (and footed, pretty much) they're great for keeping your feet cool, however disgusting it may sound. I'm fairly impressed with the quality of the shoes too, plus it came with spare heel bottoms in case of emergency!

ASOS Curve - Really?

DISCLAIMER: This is not an accusatory or derogatory post towards ASOS and its affiliates, but merely a personal observation. I do not intend to offend or upset anyone in the publication of this post.

I am and always have been a huge fan of ASOS. They have a wide range of brands, styles and prices to fit anyone interested in fashion, and my ASOS Premium has saved me last-minute from going naked to a party countless times. There is only one thing about this fashion haven that confuses (and slightly upsets) me - the models of their ASOS Curve range.

Quite rightly, you may be asking yourself why I am writing this. As an average teenage size 8, you're right to think it doesn't concern me at all, as I would never buy the clothes in the range or be interested in them. Maybe not, but does that mean I shouldn't think that everyone is entitled to have an interest in fashion? I truly respect a colossal influence on the fashion world like ASOS for bringing out such a stylish and accurate range for girls of different sizes, but I also think their representation should be correct.

As you may remember, ASOS addressed the issue last year when an even slimmer model was seen representing the brand on their website:

They later stated that they would be removing the model from the ASOS Curve section due to the response it had received and their incorrect representation of plus-size girls. This was in May 2012. So why is it happening again?

I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter, if you even think it is a matter at all. Considering the Curve range starts at a size 20, do you think these models, although undeniably beautiful, are right for the job? If you have read this post, I'm grateful you've listened to my opinion and I hope you understand why I feel the way I do. Let me know what you think.

OOTN: All That Glitters

Dress - Topshop
Earrings - Topshop
Necklace - Thrifted
Converse - Office

This is the get-up I had on Saturday night and was a little thrown together, I wasn't in the mood for wearing heels so played down the midi with my trusty Converse. I picked up this dress a couple days ago in my local Topshop and was pleasantly surprised when I got to the till and found it had been reduced from £40 to £20! The earrings were a bargain too at £1.50. You may have noticed my hair has gotten a little more drastic as I had the chop on Saturday and got the sides shaved off, I'll show you some better pictures of it soon!

Update

SS13 shirt/ants on a log/breakfast

I'm sorry, I've been a bad blogger! This week has been overwhelmingly busy being the week before half term along with managing to dislocate my knee for the second time (no outfit posts this week!) so blogging has had to take a back seat. My birthday is on Thursday which is something slightly less stressful to look forward to. I love this watercolour shirt I bought off ASOS this week, I think it will fit in well with the trends that seem to be developing this SS13. I can't wait to start wearing bright colours again!

Mac Lipstick: Cyber

MAC Lipstick in Cyber - £14

This lipstick has been my favourite for some time, especially during the winter months. It's a purple lipstick with brown undertones and gives a slight sheen, but I find it dries my lips out quite a lot (I am a constant victim of chapped lips!) Usually I layer it with a coat of a red lipstick such as MAC's Ruby Woo first and then apply Cyber - it gives a warmer tone and more purple rather than brown.
This is the closest I've got to my perfecting my 90s grunge lip but I'm still open to suggestions - what's your favourite shade of dark lipstick?

Valentine Baking - Rose Flavoured Brownie ❤

It was unavoidable. This post has been swirling around in my head for weeks, trying to think of a cutesy loved-up baking post to share and sicken you all with my love of clichéd cuddles and flowers and teddy bears and running to the airport just in time to tell me that I shouldn't go to Paris but I get on the plane anyway and then I'm in your apartment and I am NOT Rachel Green.

I can't take full credit for these creations. The brownie recipe is Sally's from Sally's Baking Addiction and has become my go-to recipe every since I started reading her blog a few months ago. I love the combination of rose and chocolate - throw in a heart-shaped cookie cutter and you have a recipe for romance. I've got another idea for a loved-up baking recipe before Valentines so keep checking next week!

Recipe after the jump!
